What opencam is

A free, open-source map of public cameras. It gathers the camera lists that road agencies, weather services and webcam networks publish, pins each camera to the place it watches, and shows its live picture when you open it — fetched fresh each time, and never kept.

What it is not

• Not an official channel. For road closures and emergencies, rely on the agency or the emergency services.
• Not a surveillance tool. Nothing is recorded, nothing is archived and nobody is identified.
• Not a camera owner. Every picture belongs to the organisation that operates the camera.

Open by default

opencam is MIT licensed. There is no account, no paywall and no tracking of which cameras you watch. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), map style © CARTO. Place names from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0). Some imagery contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

Removing a camera

If you operate a camera that appears here and would rather it did not, making the feed private or removing it from the directory that lists it takes it off the map at the next catalogue rebuild.
